If something feels off, tell us.
Lampside is built by a small team. There is no help-desk software between you and the people who made the app. Email a human.
Replies usually within 1–2 days. Include the device you’re on and what you were doing when it happened — that’s usually all we need.
Common questions.
How do I pay for it? What’s the catch?
There is no catch. Lampside is free, forever. No trial, no premium tier, no in-app purchases. The brand promise is “built free,” and that’s the whole thing. If you ever see a paywall in Lampside, it’s a bug — email us.
Where is my data? Can I export my session history?
Your data is on your phone. Nowhere else. There is no cloud copy because there is no cloud. We didn’t build a server, so there’s nothing to export from. If you delete the app, everything goes with it. We may add a local export-to-text feature in a future version — write in if you want it sooner.
If I uninstall, will my sessions come back when I reinstall?
No. Lampside stores everything on your device — your history, moods, reflections, favorites, and settings all live in the local app store and nowhere else. Uninstalling wipes that store; reinstalling gives you a fresh start.
It’s the same trade-off as the “no accounts, no servers” promise — we can’t see your data, and we also can’t restore it. If you switch phones or factory-reset, the same thing happens.
One edge case: if you have Android Auto-Backup enabled in your Google account, Google may have a private copy stashed in your Drive. If you reinstall from the same Google account and choose “restore from backup” during setup, your Lampside data may come back. We don’t see or control that; it’s Google’s system, not ours.
If preserving your journal across reinstalls matters to you, write in. A local export-to-file feature (no cloud) is on our list and your vote moves it up.
Will my streak break if I miss a day?
Yes. The current streak counts consecutive calendar days you’ve completed at least one session. Miss a day, it resets. Your longest-ever streak is recorded separately on the Insights screen, so you can see what you’ve done across the year even if a recent streak ended.
I want a reminder at a different time than the presets.
v1 ships with 5 fixed time presets (7am, 8am, noon, 5pm, 9pm) to keep the settings screen calm. If a custom-time picker matters to you, write in — we’ll likely add one in v1.1.
The chime sound is gentle, but I’d rather have silence.
Settings → Session → Soft chime · toggle off. The chime is on by default; turning it off is one tap, and it stays off forever (or until you turn it back on).
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes, on the way. Lampside launched on Android first. iOS is built from the same codebase and will follow once App Store review clears.
Can I use it in airplane mode?
Yes. Lampside has no server dependency. Everything works offline — sessions, reminders, settings, and the chime. You only need internet to install or update the app.
It crashed. What should I do?
Close the app fully and reopen it. If it crashes again, please email [email protected] with your phone model and Android version. Because we don’t collect crash telemetry, your report is the only way we’ll know.
I want to suggest a new mode or feature.
Please do. The nine modes were chosen to cover nine specific moments, but if you’re hitting a tenth and we missed it, that’s exactly the kind of feedback we want. Same address: [email protected].
I’m a journalist / podcaster / writer.
Welcome. Press kit is in progress. In the meantime, the brand book and asset folder are available on request — just email us.
For accessibility.
Lampside is type-light by design. If the default text feels small, open Settings → Display → Text Size → Large. If you need an even larger size or a higher-contrast theme, write in — we’ll prioritize it.
Reporting a bug.
Email [email protected] with:
Your phone model, your Android version, and a one-sentence description of what you were doing when the bug happened. Screenshots help but aren’t required. We don’t use a ticket tracker; the email goes to a person.
